924S / 944 NA 8v 2.5" LINDSEY STEEL EXHAUST
Lindsey Racing puts together yet another exhaust kit for the 944 NA. Either connect it to
your factory headers, or the MSDS headers.
This exhaust is made from 2.5" aluminized coated steel exhaust tubing. Formed with mandrel bends making it free flowing throughout without pinch points and collapsed tubing like the factory system.
All systems come complete with band clamps for installation.
On both our systems described below, the muffler, muffler replacement pipe and optional cat or pre-mufflers are sold separately.
LR-944-EXH-251
This version connects to the
factory header arrangement. You simply cut off
the factory exhaust past the O2 sensor and test port, slip on our
system, clamp it down and you're connected.
LR-944-EXH-252
This version connects to the
MSDS headers. It attaches directly to the header
collector.
Thermal Coating:
If you wish to have the exhaust thermal barrier coated, that adds $150 to the price of a system. Highly recommended for a track car. It will help keep the heat from entering the driver compartment. It will also add to the
life expectancy of the exhaust. With or without the thermal coating, the exhaust will give you many years of use. Mufflers and MRPs:
The systems do not come with a muffler. Some of you may already
have a muffler you want to use so we don't force you to purchase
one from us. The dimensions of the mufflers we use are 19" overall length,
2.5" center in, and 2.5" center out.

Optional Cat:
All exhausts have a cat replacement pipe in them. It's the second pipe in the system. You can remove that
pipe and add our performance CAT at any time or
select it with your exhaust purchase. On this kit, we use a 3" cat
and neck it down to 2.5" on the inlet and outlet so that we minimize the
restriction versus using a smaller 2.5" cat. The 3" cat will flow more
through the matrix because of the larger area.

Optional MDSD Headers are available and the 2.5" system connects directly to them.

Pre-Muffler (additional silencer):
The 2.5" system sounds awesome with any of our muffler
choices. For some however, it may still be a little to
loud. For them, we offer a pre-muffler muffler. This is a blow through muffler with little or
no restriction that goes in place of the second pipe
in our system where you would otherwise put a cat. It quiets down the exhaust significantly with little additonal restriction. It can be mistaken for a cat visually.
