Wheels were one of our most interesting projects. The front wheels are
made from the barrel of a 1988 Corvette wheel (two piece) measuring 17x9.5". The rear wheels were made
from welding the back barrels of two Mitsubishi 3000GT-VR4 wheels together. We installed Porsche fuches
centers we removed from the factory 6 x 16 wheels and welded the assemblies together. This was
performed at Wheel Connection, a business which we spend our days at. We installed automatic air bleeds
by True Choice in the wheels. These maintain constant pressure in the tires as they heat up.
The rear wheels ended up at 17x12". We selected BF Goodrich R1's front and rear. 275/40/17's on the front
and 315/35/17's on the rear. The rear wheels and fenders can accept 335's. The wheels were then fully
polished. Spacers (1/2 inch) were necessary on the front to gain the necessary brake caliper clearance,
longer wheel studs were then necessary and we use the factory steel open ended lug nuts (early 912).
