During our DE at Heartland Park Topeka, the clutch failed. It ended our weekend before 10:00 am Saturday. I guess we are fortunante that it kept together for the earlier Club Race.
1)We pulled the transmission and clutch. We had the transmission rebuilt. The only thing we had to change was the syncros and the clutches for the limited slip. All the gears and bearings were fine. We had this done by Bob Dumont's Porsche Service here in Oklahoma City.
2)We shopped a clutch and ended up choosing a Center Force unit. The center force uses Sachs componants and adds their own improvemts. We pulled the flywheel and turned some metal out of it lightning it about 2 pounds. The reinstall went smooth. The clutch seems to work just fine. It has minimal additional pedal pressure and seems to engage much like the stock piece.
3)We were not having any luck getting more than 14 psi of boost even with a 1.1 bar spring installed in the TIAL wastegate. We borrowed a Manual Controller from a friend and installed it for the Hallet Club Race.

4)We added some NACA ducts for driver cooling in both doors. The pieces zues fasten into the same brackets that our side windows attach. One we remove the side window (required to for PCA Racing) the ducts locate in seconds. The driver side (not shown) throws fresh air right at our face. The right side throws air at our tourso through some 3" ducting.

5)We switched to Pagid orange brake pads. We got some good advice and a great price from Paragon Products.
Dateline: July 25, 2000.
We decided to upgrade the turbo. We didn't really plan on doing it immediatally, but we had our K27 sold and the buyer needs it asap. Our new custom piece should be done in a few days and we will tell you more about it later. It is a piece that Lindsey Racing will be offering.
Ordered some new plug wires today from Paragon Products. Perty Yeller ones!
Mike and I discussed it today and decided since the intake manifold is already off, we might as well change the cam shaft. We ordered a web cam grind 274.
end---
We anticipate our rear wing will be on the car in August.
Next pictures should show the car with our Lindsey Racing wheels installed.
Check back for further updates and improvements.
